Pl@za Help User Manager

User Manager is a tool that you can use to view, modify, and delete member information. This is useful, for example, when a member has forgotten his or her password. When you click User search on the navigation bar, you are taken to the user search function. Having searched for members it is possible to view a user's IBC information by clicking the member's name or modify user's information by clicking modify beside the user name. A Registration Information form is then displayed where you can modify the member's information.

Searching for users

To search for a user:

  • On the navigation bar, click User search and the user search page opens. From this page it is possible to search for members using two methods, firstly by using the alphabetical links situated at the top of the page, or alternatively by providing several search criteria. Instructions for both methods are given below.

Searching for members using the alphabetical links:

  • Click one of the letters to search for user accounts whose last name begins with that letter. A list of users who match the chosen letter is then displayed and it is possible to access the IBC of the user by clicking the names on the list.

Searching for members by providing several search criteria:

  • To select whether to display user information to view, to delete, to enable or disable choose the appropriate radio button.

  • To choose whether the search for user information starts with, ends with, or just contains the given search string, select the appropriate option from the drop down list. You can use an asterisk (*) at the beginning or the end of the search string to expand the search.

  • To search for exact occurrences of the string, choose the is option from the drop down list.

  • Select Match all criteria (AND operator) to search for information matching all of the given search criteria.

  • Select Match any criteria (OR operator) to search for information matching at least one of the given search criteria.

  • To choose how to display the search results, select the appropriate option button under Display Results.

  • To choose how many users are displayed per page, on the returned search result pages, select the required value from the drop down list.

Click Search to start the search. A list of users whose information corresponds to your search criteria appears. You can access the IBC of these users by clicking the names on the list.

Viewing the list of users

To view user information:

  1. On the navigation bar, click User search and the user search function is displayed. Click the letters to view the user accounts whose last name begins with that letter, or search the members by following the instructions below.

  2. To choose whether the search for user information starts with, ends with, or just contains the given search string, select the appropriate option from the drop down list. You can use an asterisk (*) at the beginning or the end of the search string to expand the search. Select the way the results are displayed by choosing the appropriate option from the Display results option.

  3. A list of users whose information corresponds to your search criteria appears, whichever search method you choose to employ. You can access the IBC of these users by clicking the names on the list.

Change Your Registration Information

You can modify the following registration information:

  • Last name

  • First name

  • E-mail address

  • Password

When you have finished modifying the information, click Modify to save the changes. You can also click Cancel to exit without saving the changes.

Modifying user preferences

On the user preferences page you can select the language of the layout and define your preferred communication methods.

To set the language

  • Click the option button.

To define your communication preferences

  1. Select the communication methods you want to be able to use.

    !Note: Other users can only send you messages with the communications methods you choose.

  2. Select your preferred delivery method.

    This option is needed when somebody sends you a message and lets the recipient, you, decide the delivery method.

  3. When you have finished modifying the information, click Modify to save the changes. You can also click Cancel to exit without saving the changes.

  4. Click Modify.
