The Telework Stat of the month is taken from the ITAC report, Teleworking Comes of Age with Broadband, Telework America Survey 2002, sponsored by AT&T and written by Joanne H. Pratt of Joanne H. Pratt Associatess. The report was published in April 2003.

June 2004 Stat of the Month

Did you know that more and more homes have several teleworkers? Some even work for the same company (12% broadband vs. 10% dial-up employees).

 

 

May 2004 Stat of the Month

Are employers missing possible savings on office space when they let employees telework? Only 1% of employees give up their office in exchange for employer-paid broadband service for their home office. More than 60% of teleworkers occupy a personal workspace at their employer’s.

 

 

April 2004 Stat of the Month

If you telework can your family go online from your home office PC? About 30% of employers of teleworkers with broadband access say it’s okay for household members and 36% okay going online for personal use. But 19% of employees are restricted to business use of the Internet.

Did you know that more broadband teleworkers than dialup users have security measures in place from their remote locations? Eighty-five percent have firewalls compared to only 67 percent of dialup users.

 

 

February 2004 Stat of the Month

You probably aren’t surprised that broadband teleworkers spend more time online than dialup users. They average 6.18 compared with 4.82 hours per day. But fifteen percent are online as much as 11 hours or more per day.

Did you know that most teleworkers don’t work just at home? Both those who have broadband at home and those with only dial-up Internet access also work at their employer’s (81%), while traveling (49%) and at their customer’s place of business.

"Did you know that 22% of broadband teleworkers (compared to 14% of those who had dialup) would like to work at home full time?"

 

November 2003 Stat of the Month

The one-time cost for installing broadband is only $23 more than installing dialup.
