A Message from the President of ITAC

 

Next year, ITAC will celebrate its 10th anniversary. During ITAC's decade of service to the telework community, there have been many changes in the organization and in the field of telework. The constants have been the steady growth in the number of people teleworking and ITAC's dedication to delivering meaningful programs and services to its members.

ITAC's Board of Directors recently conducted an intensive review of the association's operations and programs. The end result is a new plan for ITAC, a plan designed to bring more value to membership in our association.

ITAC now offers five organizational membership categories, each with tailored benefits and dues: User Company, Agency, Vendor Company, Sole Proprietor, and a premier level called "Telework Top Tier."

We have also restructured ITAC memberships so that one membership fee now covers an entire organization, allowing all employees of a member company to access a broad range of member benefits. Now user companies and agencies can extend their ITAC membership to professionals in their HR, Facilities Management and IT departments.

Cross-category benefits include:

  • Enhanced Members-Only Web site: When we roll out the new site in July, you will find easier access to member-exclusive information including valuable Telework America research, case studies, and an online membership directory to help you network with your peers. All members will be issued new, individual passwords in July.
  • A complimentary copy of ITAC's renowned Telework America 2001 Research Report (previously priced at $99) -- additional copies only $39 each.
  • Annual Meeting for members in September of this year- more details to follow.
  • Virtual Seminars: ITAC will offer a series of webinars on timely telework topics that members can attend for free or at a significantly discounted fee. We'll kick off the series on June 19th with "Technology Barriers for Home-Based Teleworkers," based on a new report commissioned by GSA.
  • Many more benefits are available that apply to all members as well as those that are category specific. Please go to member benefits for full details about each of the five categories.

With ITAC fast approaching its 10th anniversary, we have never been so well positioned to serve the Telework community and to fuel the continued growth of virtual work, both here in the U.S. and abroad.
