ITAC TO HOLD MEMBERS' CONFERENCE
IN NEW YORK CITY FOR THE FIRST TIME, ON SEPTEMBER 26
WASHINGTON, July 31, 2002
- ITAC, the association for advancing work from anywhere,
has scheduled its 2002 members-only conference in New York
City for the very first time. The event is set to take place
on September 26 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, from 1:00 to
8:00 pm.
The ITAC members' conference will feature presentations from
telework analysts and practitioners and is preceded by ITAC's
annual business meeting. A networking reception, where members
can mingle with speakers, sponsors, experts and each other,
will cap the day.
"After the tragic events of last September necessitated
cancellation of our 2001 event, we felt it was time for ITAC
to bring its annual conference to New York City," said
Tim Kane, ITAC President and President of Kinetic Workplace.
Well-known telework consultant Gil Gordon of Gil Gordon Associates
is chairman of ITAC's conference committee, which has devloped
an information-packed day.
Program highlights include:
- Keynote presentation by Mike Bell of the Gartner Group,
on "The Agile Workplace" - a review of the findings
of the Agile Workplace Research Project conducted with the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with focus on the
people-related aspects of the research such as teleworker
support, collaborative applications, virtual teaming, and
best practices.
- Ray Boggs of IDC, one of the deans of telework/SOHO market
research, will comment on the Agile Workplace findings,
and add his own views on the growth and nature of the telework
population.
- Panel discussion, "The Telework University of Hard
Knocks: Five Lessons About Telework Programs Learned the
Hard Way by Five Telework Pros". Panelists will come
from Merrill Lynch, Lexis-Nexis, General Service Administration
(GSA) and Valley Metro of Phoenix Arizona.
To attend the conference, you must be an employee of a member
company. Early-bird registration for $195 per person is available
until August 7th. Regular registration for $250 is then available
until September 3. Late registration for $295 is available
thereafter.
GSA is the charter sponsor for this member-exclusive event;
additional sponsors are being sought. Sponsorship packages
are $2,500. For details click

ITAC memberships are now organization-wide, so that all employees
of a member company can take advantage of benefits. Member
benefits and privileges are tailored to the specific needs
and interests of three groups: organizations who allow employees
to telework, companies who provide products and services useful
in telework, and government agencies who help foster working
remotely. For information on membership, visit www.workingfromanywhere.org/join,
call ITAC's membership department at 781-876-6251, or send
email to [email protected].
