Teleworking Comes of Age with
Broadband is the latest Telework America research report
by ITAC. Noted telework researcher and analyst, Joanne
Pratt, developed and conducted a national survey to measure
the impact broadband has on people who work from home and
other locations. The published survey report provides results
on the differences between teleworkers who have broadband
(BB) versus those who only use dial up (DU).
2003 Report Content
Our research provides the following quantitative results:
- Productivity increase from broadband over dialup,
- Demographics on BB and DU users including income, education
and type of employment,
- Differences in office equipment between BB and DU,
- Differences between BB and DU users in terms of hours
worked and how they work,
- The differences between the two sets of users in accessing
e-mail, web sites, video conferencing and instant messaging,
- The percentage of employers that pay for communications
services and equipment.
How to Obtain a Copy
ITAC members receive for free one printed copy of the 2003
Telework America report and the opportunity to
purchase for only $95 an electronic license of the report
to more easily distribute to its employees. Non members
can purchase the printed report for $495.
Non members who are government agencies or telework user
organizations can join for
only $500 a year. Thus for nearly the same cost of the research
report, an organization can obtain 12 months of membership
in ITAC. Membership benefits include access to the members
only web site featuring dozens of case studies and articles,
contact information of other members to put you in close touch
with the telework community, and free webinars.
